8 h “Treating my family from Hong Kong to this private wine tour in Douro Valley was the highlight of our trip (or any vacation for that matter). Alfredo was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating, always making sure that we were enjoying ourselves and that we were happy with the pace of the tour. The selection of vineyards was perfect for a day trip. Each stop offered a unique experience. We were able to meet passionate small estate owners and sample vintage port from superb years all in one day! The outdoor wine tasting with picturesque views of the vineyard and mountains was a real treat. Alfredo really pulls out all the stops and spares no expenses to ensure that this tour is of outstanding quality. The lunch at Quinta Da Pacheca was exquisite (the sea bass and port wine cake were some of the best dishes we had in Porto). This was, without a doubt, the most flawlessly executed tour out there. We were able to soak in magnificent views, learn and sample the best wine Douro has to offer, and enjoy a gourmet 3 course meal. Alfredo really goes above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Extremely glad we chose this tour!”

Alfredo Santos is a great tour operator. My compliments are reflected here in other reviews. Alfredo is very professional, but has a warm charm that make you feel as though he is a close friend. He has close connections with very unique producers in the valley which also makes each experience quite special. As mentioned elsewhere, Alfredo's van is immaculate and he is a very good driver ~ better than most. My wife and I travelled with our daughter and her husband. We all enjoyed the time spent with Alfredo and appreciated his insights to the country, the region, and the people in the valley.”

“Truly Amazing Douro Experience
After having done many tours via Viator, and other apps, we have found that it is not very enjoyable. You never know what group you're going to get, and it can get crowded and frustrating. Via word of mouth we received Alfredo's contact information and could not be happier that we did. We only had 2 short days in Porto, but wanted to make the most of our time. The full day education and wine tasting (with 3 course lunch) in the Douro was amazing and exceeded all expectations. We were picked up promptly at our hotel in Porto Gaia, and embarked on our journey. On the roughly 1.5 hour trip Alfredo educated us on the history of the region, wine making, trading, regulation, etc. Our first stop was truly one of the most amazing winery tours/tastings we had ever done at Gueda (Casa de Romezal). Very personal and quaint. Luis is a true gem. Quinta da Pacheca was our next stop and was also amazing, where we were served an outstanding 3 course lunch. Our last stop provided the best views of the Valley - Quinta do Pego...I almost forgot the 1 hour boat ride up the Douro was breathtaking. Our expectations were exceeded in almost every aspect of the trip. We HIGHLY recommend Alfredo for any adventure. He has decades in the hostpitality space, and it shows!”

Our Douro Valley wine tour with Alfredo was without a doubt the highlight of our 14 day tour through Portugal. Alfredo’s knowledge and passion for what he does is truly fascinating. The Douro Valley has many stunning views and Quintas where excellent wine is produced. What we liked about Alfredo’s tour is that he took us to an array of vineyards, from local family owned to established estates. Best wine tour in Douro Valley.”
